balletLORENT - Rumpelstiltskin

As part of Family Weekend, the ever-popular balletLORENT returns to Sadler’s Wells with another of their fantastical dance-theatre fairy-tale adaptations. Directed by Liv Lorent, and retold by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, Rumpelstiltskin is the story of the outsider, shunned for being different.

Set in a world of spinning wheels, kings and queens, this is a tale of love, loss and magic powers, where the alchemist Rumpelstiltskin is outcast until he is revealed to be “the true prince that he was”.

With a score by Doctor Who composer Murray Gold, costumes designed by Michele Clapton (Game of Thrones), and narration by actor Ben Crompton, Rumpelstiltskin is the perfect Easter treat for families.

    Loved everything about this production. Great storytelling. Beautiful music, costumes, lighting and set. Enjoyed the narrative as it meant the younger audience members could follow the story easily. So much to look at, as at any one time there were many dancers (of a wide age range) on stage. Perfect show for children and adults would highly recommend and I would go again in an instant
