English National Ballet’s 70th Anniversary Gala Celebrations

To mark its 70th anniversary, the company is packing the London Coliseum with some of the most enjoyable and iconic dance works that make up their history. 

In the first half, they present a non-stop programme including extracts from classics like Carmen, Romeo & Juliet and The Sleeping Beauty, and recent hits such as Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Broken Wings (a ballet on the artist Frida Kahlo), Akram Khan’s Giselle and William Forsythe’s Playlist (Track 2).

The evening concludes with a stunning showcase of the great talent across all the ranks of English National Ballet, with Harald Lander’s Etudes. This piece, which begins with traditional ballet steps and ramps up to a spectacular display of technique, has wowed audiences for decades, and you’ll see why as English National Ballet’s dancers make it their own.
