The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Based on the award-winning novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliot, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a thrilling new stage play from the National Theatre, hailed by the Times as 'A phenomenal combination of storytelling and spectacle'.

Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears' dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

11/10 - outstanding production & wonderful performances from all, especially the lead characters. Heard a couple of things of what it was about, but Thoroughly was amazed at what I experienced. Fab sound track & special effects an was completely entertained. Only down side was the lovely lass who I had organised the tickets for for her 30th unfortunately had to go home as she was suffering from labrynthitus & didn't get to see the show :( If you appreciate all aspects of theatre, the it's a must show to see though. Thoroughly entertaining & amazing timing. Very skilled production.

This was one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever seen. Captivating, innovative and inspiring. This is truly a masterpiece. It had us rolling about laughing one minute and bawling or eyes out the next. The shows marriage of set, lighting, sound and acting were faultless- helping to tell the most beautiful story. Thank you, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, for bringing this story to us.

  • Curious Incident of Dog.....

    7 April 2017

Great performance and set, but spoiled by way too much swearing. Every other entence contained "F***". My daughter is 12 and there were plenty of other kids inthe audience. I'm sure theatrical mastery can be conveyed without the crude vocabulary.
